My Scholars Need Sets of Novels for Our NEW Library
Help me give my students sets of novels for whole class reading in our gorgeous new library space!

My Students
I work in West Philadelphia where the families have very limited resources to help support their children's literacy needs. Recently, I had the chance to revitalize the school library. For years, this space has not been used, and our students have been thrilled to experience a transformed space to learn, listen, and read. Students at our school come to class without pencils, paper, folders, and many times without even breakfast. We are a K-8 school with approximately 800 students. The students I teach are excited to learn and happy to be a part of our school community. However, materials and supplies are almost non-existent and need to be purchased by the teachers. Students here love to read and need all the support they can get.
My Project
These fabulous new sets of novels will support my scholars in their reading and writing development for years to come. Getting them reading all together, on the same page as we come together for class will help keep them excited about the story and working cooperatively.
Building a strong foundation for reading and budding writers is imperative for our learners.
By making sure they have the right titles in their hands is part of this process. I am so excited that the students will be receiving these chapter books for they will be sure to spark incredible conversations and wonderful learning success!
