My Students
We are a small K-5 school filled with students who are wonderful to work with! They are a diverse group of students in terms of race, income, gender, and ability levels, all looking for a chance to be successful. I have students who work at high levels and love to be challenged, down to students who need that nudge.
Many of them struggle with issues adults couldn't deal with, but still find a way to come to school and participate in the learning process.
We are a family of learners, myself included. Every day is a new day of learning, loving, and respecting each other. We are an awesome community working hard at being the best that we can be!
My Project
For the past three years, our students have competed in the FIRST LEGO League Robotics competition. They have done an amazing job competing!
However, in order to compete, the students have to have the resources required to prepare for the competition.
The MIndstorms Education EV3 Core Set gives students the resources to learn, not only how to build a robot, but also how to program it. What a way to combine creativity, computer science, and critical thinking!
The set will bring STEM skills and fun into our classroom! The students will be able to use the tutorials to learn how to build and program a robot.
They will definitely be ready for next year's competition!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
More than half of students from low‑income households
