Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is a new classroom a this school site for students who have Autism in grades Transitional Kindergarten and Regular Kindergarten. They range from about 4 years old to almost 6 years old. Some are non verbal. Some are verbal. All of my students are active.
My students have access to a fenced-in play area that has very little equipment for them to use.
I have 10 students and only 2 tricycles. No play house, no trampoline, no covered water /sand table. Limited balls and sports equipment.
I am requesting outside items first, as it's important that young children get to spend time outside in the fresh air while engaging in physical activities. The items I am requesting are age-appropriate, and child sized. These items will help promote large motor development, body awareness, social skill, science concepts,s and spark their imaginations!
