Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although I would of never dreamed of an Ipod as a kid, they are a reality in most student's lives. The more advanced technology becomes, the more my students want to take part in it. Being able to use an Ipod Touch to read texts, watch videos, & play games will help my students learn efficiently.
Our school is a small urban school that, while underfunded, has an amazing student body and staff.
Both students and staff try to do their best with what they have, and try to succeed with honor. By donating items that wouldn't normally be available to them, you are helping to boost the students' confidence and helping them reach their goals. My special education students try to do their best, but by being able to represent curriculum in a new and technologically advanced way will pique their interest and hopefully allow them to better understand lessons.
My Project
While I do have smaller classes, my students need a lot of individual attention during classes. I believe that by using an Ipod the students will be able to get additional individualized instruction while I am working with others. I will be able to upload oral readings, text, videos, and more so that students or groups can review material on the Ipod while I work with other kids.
Our students live in a enormous metropolitan area and they are up-to-date with what technology is out there.
I believe that being able to include these types of technology in the classroom will boost their interest, as well as help them learn in new and effective ways. I know that they deserve it, but unfortunately neither I or the school can currently provide them with these amazing tools. Please help them to become the best students that they can possibly be!
