The littlest readers love to read the same fun book over and over. Sometimes as soon as they finish it, they'll read it again. They eagerly find the words they know and repeat the language in the book over and over. They simply find a book they love and enjoy it to death.
I am the reading teacher at a wonderful elementary school in a suburb of a major city in Michigan.
My students come to my room for extra help with reading. Our school has great classroom teachers, but some kids still have trouble learning to read. Some of these kids feel discouraged because they aren't learning what the other kids are. Some of them are feeling overwhelmed by the daunting task of learning to read.
My Project
I would love to create the enjoyable experience of finding a good book that can be read over and over and loved to death for my littlest readers. I have found some great books that were specifically designed for the very beginning reader. They only have a few words on a page, so words are easy to find. The print is black and clear, so the words are easy to see. The same language is repeated over and over, so it can be read easily. These books have everything that the littlest readers need to get started.
Making sure that the struggling readers get off to a good start is essential for ensuring that they continue to develop good reading skills. Happy, successful work leads to a willingness to work hard and a satisfaction for a job well done.
Your generous gift would be truly appreciated by me and my students.
Having these little books for my students to read and enjoy would get them off to a good start, leading to faster progress and a love for reading. Thank you very much for considering this project.
