My Library Needs Some Color- Markers!

My students need markers for various art projects tying into Library learning and themes. We also need cardstock to make booksmarks. All those little things mean a lot!

My Students

We have no funds for any art supplies for our Library students, grades K thru 6th. I love to create fun, little art projects that can tie in with Library skills, literature, and reading. Our students love it and it really stimulates their creativity! Our tiny PTA has no funds.

Our student population is 85% poverty, with those numbers always increasing.

Due to the tough economic times many of our students only eat regular meals when they are at school. We also have about 30% English Language Learners from all over the world. I always try to offer them fun, extra art activities, but it all costs money.

My Project

My students LOVE doing any kind of art project! With markers we can do lots of fun things in the Library and showcase our students creativity! Students have a blast and really jump in! I also really promote individual expression, in a non-judgmental environment. Personalized bookmarks are also really fun, and I can print them on my laser printer as well.

It is really sad that my markers are drying out right now.

Our supply closet is empty of these kinds of basic supplies. With emphasis on testing, sometimes art falls by the wayside. Something simple like color markers can make a huge difference! Please help keep our students happy and creating during their busy school days! Please help. While I have no funds for new Library books next year, hopefully art supplies are in our future!!! Thank you!
