Help me give my students recognition for doing the right thing without being asked to. Amelia, one of my students, started Project Kind and will be surprising these students with gift cards and treats at a special assembly.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from an large urban area in Connecticut and are an extremely diverse population of students, with families from countries around the globe. Many of our students are English Language Learners for whom English is a second language, and over half of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
Our school is a true melting pot of students with cultural backgrounds from near and far, which makes our school so great!
Our students have backgrounds from approximately 40 different countries around the world...we are a fantastic mixture of cultures and backgrounds!
My Project
Amelia launched Project Kind when she was in 7th grade. She secretly trained 7th grade student "look outs" to "watch" the other 7th graders, looking for random acts of kindness. The students didn't know they were being watched and the look-outs wrote these students' names down as they saw the acts of kindness taking place. At a special assembly, in front of the entire school, these students were surprised by being recognized for their kindness with "prizes".
This year, Amelia took Project Kind to another level -- it is now school wide!
Amelia has secretly trained "look outs" in every grade level and now they are also "watching" for random acts of kindness.
Prizes such as gift cards, candy, pens/pencils, and highlighters will be presented to the students caught being kind at a special school-wide assembly. In addition to the students caught being kind, Amelia will unexpectedly recognize her "look outs" with prizes for keeping track of these random acts of kindness.
