This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from Queens, New York. All of the children in this area receive free breakfast and lunch, because we are a Title 1 school. My third graders are ready to learn through the use of technology, but unfortunately there is not enough to go around! All of my students are energetic and excited to learn, enjoy hands on activities, love going to the Computer Lab once a week, and enjoy all the little things they are given!
Unfortunately, many of my students come from low income homes or shelters, and do not have access to computers outside of school.
Throughout my Inclusion Classroom, students engage in a variety of learning strategies, partnerships, group work, independent practice, and guided reading. All students understand that they are not all given the same materials, but the materials they need to be equally successful as one another. I am excited for a new year with new students!
My Project
Technology will make a magnificent difference in my students' learning because a lot of the programs we have at our school have technology attached. Unfortunately a majority of my students do not have access to any technology at home. We have many different programs that allow students and teachers alike to give immediate feedback to students to help improve their success in school.
There are many reading and mathematics programs that all my students can take full advantage of if they are given Kindle Fires.
They will be able to log on and use the programs that are provided for them. Students can also complete research projects as they are supposed to. The products that I have selected will benefit all of my students by giving them the technology they need to be successful in today's world.
