My Students

In my school there are many ESL and SWD students who need that interactive visual support to help them with reading, writing and math.
In my classroom, Students are moving around interacting with each other in group discussions or at different learning centers. Because of their diverse literacy needs, my students need me to differentiate the process and content of lessons according to their learning style. My students benefit most when given the opportunity to become active independent learners. The environment in my classroom is one for learning and exploring. My students work best when given a task with direction and are then told to edit, correct and finalize on their own.
My Project
My students will learn how to surf the web and research topics. Also a great group activity to encourage collaboration would be to let the students create and edit videos to help tell a story. To develop students’ writing skills and help struggling writers, the app Confidence with Clicker Docs, the writing tool that provides differentiated support for students of all abilities, would greatly benefit my students. They can dictate to the iPad using the Dragon Dictation app and it will type the words for struggling writers. This in turn builds the confidence of the struggling student who otherwise would never have attempted this.
By donating 2 iPads to my classroom it will help change students' lives by helping meet the needs of all different learning styles.
