Help me give my students These resources will help to our students transition from distance learning to in-person learning as we return to a hands-on student-centered classroom.
My firsties are amazing - every year! They inspire me everyday and make me a better teacher each and every year. First grade is such a special grade, especially this year. It's a school year that sticks with us through the years, and impacts the way that we learn for the rest of our lives. These first graders have never had a "normal" year due to the impact of COVID-19. They started Kindergarten in the midst of a global pandemic, and that is all they have ever had the chance to know.
My Project
My students do not yet know the joy of sitting around the carpet to do morning meetings, listen to a read aloud story, or grab a book from our classroom library. (Labels are for our books which are now transitioning and being relabeled from AR #s to Lexile #s.) They have not used interactive notebooks (lots of Teachers Pay Teachers resources) or flexible seating (seat cushions). These resources will help provide our students with some of what they have missed during our time in distance learning. They will also support our students in adjusting to being back in school.
