This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Assorted Crayola Classpack and other art supplies will allow my students to create artwork for their hallway display folder. Every student should have the necessary items to take pride in their learning and art. We try to add new art each week, along with fun pictures I take throughout the year. I want my students to be proud of their artwork and to see their growth, not only in the knowledge they gain, but also in the pictures taken that will bring back memories of their time in first grade.

This art folder not only showcases what we are learning, but also demonstrates the progress of their writing skills, growing imagination, and holiday celebrations, as well as pictures of special days, which serve as an annual keepsake folder they take home at the end of the year.

Each display incorporates a sentence or paragraph that tells the story behind their masterpiece.

My students love art. I enjoy showing off their talent to others by displaying their masterpieces in the hall. They watch as their folders get thick, and by the end of the school year, they are gleaming with joy when I take the folders down, allowing all students to autograph and write notes on the front and back covers, and I add my farewell note. The smiles I receive at the end of the year let me know they will cherish their Annual Keepsake Folder for many years to come.
