Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine riding a bike if your feet couldn't reach the pedals? It wouldn't be very fun and it could be very dangerous. That is a problem that my three-year-old students face every day. My preschoolers need equipment that is age and size appropriate.

My preschool intensive class is a program that serves preschool students with severe to moderate disabilities.

My students attend a school in California where all of the students qualify for free lunch. They are a great group of students. They come to school each day ready to learn. My students face many challenges but when they come to school, I strive to make each day the most educational and fun. My students need two trikes that are age and size appropriate. At this time, my three-year-old students can sit on the tricycles but that's it.

My Project

My program do not have any trikes. However, the general education preschool allows us to use theirs. This is great except her students are older and bigger. Right now there are no tricycles that are size appropriate for most of my preschool students. My students start school on their third birthday. They are scared and I try to find as many activities as possible to gently ease them into my program. Outdoor play is the part of the day where the students can run and jump and let loose. All of my students love to ride the tricycles. Unfortunately, many of my students are three and they are just too small for the tricycles we share. With these new tricycles, my students will learn coordination and stamina, and they will get enough exercise so they can be fit. In addition to improving health, my students will learn how to follow safety rules. My students have expressed a desire to ride by going to the trikes, trying to climb on, and stretching their legs to reach the pedal. Help them get trikes that fit.

This project is important to the development of my Pre-k students.

They will learn fitness. They want to ride and they stretch their little legs so they can reach the pedals but they are too small. Once they have trikes that are size appropriate, they will be able to learn to ride them as they develop coordination. The exercise will help my them gain strength and stamina. The trike will also teach my students confidence. Please help my preschoolers get trikes that they need to be healthy and happy.
