Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We need new cubbies that are big enough to hold our work, coats, and change of clothes, and cubbies that also meet sanitation regulations and guidelines.

My students are pre-kindergarten students who are all from low-income families.

The majority of my students, or I like to call them, my little friends, come from non-English speaking families. These precious children have had very few early learning experiences, which is why they have earned a placement in my classroom.

My Project

In a pre-K classroom, the cubbies are the children's own space. Cubbies are kind of like the high school lockers of pre-K, a special place, just for that one child to keep all their personal items. The cubbies are the homes to the children's change of clothes, coats, and most importantly, their amazing art work, writing, and collections. The construction of the cubbies is important to my little friends for the purpose of keeping their things safe, but also to me, as the teacher, who has to make sure that our cubbies meet and pass sanitation regulations and guidelines. We need cubbies that are coated properly, and that are wide enough for all my little friends' things to fit inside and not touch other children's things.

By donating to this project, you are helping my little friends to have a special place to call their own in our classroom, but also helping us to maintain a good sanitation rating.
