Help me give my students better tools to develop their literacy and improve their writing!

My Project
Equitable literacy is a focus of our school and district, so it is important that I lead students through tasks that encourages meaningful collaboration while developing their reading and writing skills. Currently, there is no way for me to show students how to effectively annotate readings in real-time. This has been a particular challenge for our students with disabilities since many of the structures that are shown to best help them learn are not feasible given the materials we have now. The projector we have does not allow for any connections outside the desktops hardwired in the building, so a separate projector as well as a space for it to be displayed is needed. There is no working smart board, so I try to re-write sentences on the small white board we have, but that is time consuming and not as effective as doing the work alongside students would be.
This document camera, projector, and projection screen will allow me to model reading and writing strategies in ways that are visible to the entire class.
Not only will I be able to show students research-based techniques, but I can have students demonstrate their own process to their peers by putting their papers under the document camera. These supplies will really help my colleagues meet our goals in helping all our students improve their literacy skills.
