This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Art brings beauty, thought, and thinking to your life! Having the experience of art in the classroom is essential for all students even if there is no funding for it!
I teach 18 wonderful and creative Pre-K students in a high needs school.
They absolutely love to engage in art activities. Young students need the opportunity to have art in their educational experience. Art gives them an opportunity to express themselves creatively and learn important concepts in a fun way.
My Project
Due to severe budget cuts in our City schools, we no longer have an art teacher or art class. Although it's not being given, I would like to teach my students about collage art. Collage art teaches them important academic concepts such as colors, shapes, and geometry. It also helps them practice their fine motor skills which is essential to learn how to cut paper and write words.
My students need various collage materials such as pom poms, foam shapes, Popsicle sticks, paper, crayons, markers, glue, and organizers for our materials. With these materials, not only will my students learn but they will be able to express themselves, be creative, and have fun!
