My Book-Loving First Graders

Help me give my students high interest beginner chapter books at their "just right" levels to help improve their reading skills, motivation, and reading enjoyment.

My Students

My students are lively, creative, curious and kind 6 and 7 year olds in a first grade classroom. They are unique as individuals who work towards meeting their individual goals while also striving to create an inclusive, collaborative classroom environment for all.

My Project

My first grade students are so excited about learning to read in first grade. A few students are already reading fluently, but many are still learning the foundational skills to help them become readers. High-interest books will help motivate my students to continue working hard to reach their reading goals.

I hope that my first graders will get to experience the joy of reading and carry it with them throughout their lives.

As part of our literacy workshop time, students have an opportunity to choose "just right" books to read independently. Having a wide variety of engaging books will help foster their love of reading.
