Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Living in a border town in Arizona offers us a unique opportunity to learn from different cultures and backgrounds. Our school is a melting pot, where students come from various walks of life.

To truly understand and appreciate one another, it's essential that we teach about diversity and acceptance.

In my special education classroom, I believe every student deserves to learn in an inclusive environment. This is why we want to introduce anti-bias materials in our curriculum. Anti-bias materials will help our students recognize and challenge stereotypes. With these tools,the kids will understand that it's okay to be different and that everyone has something valuable to offer.Stories, activities, and lessons from these materials will celebrate our differences and showcase our shared humanity. Unfortunately, we currently lack the funds to purchase these important resources. Funding for these materials will not only benefit our class but also have a positive impact on our entire school community. When students learn acceptance and understanding early on, they grow up to be compassionate and open-minded adults. With your help, we can ensure that our students are equipped with knowledge and empathy. This is about more than just books or materials; it's about shaping the minds and hearts of my students. I can foster an environment where everyone is celebrated for who they are. Your contribution helps build a world where diversity is embraced, and acceptance is taught early on.
