My Artists

My students need a variety of art supplies! We need oil pastels, watercolor paints, and chalk pastels to explore many media in order to learn the best we can.

My Students

Children with autism learn in a variety of ways. Sometimes science makes no sense until they get to illustrate their thinking. My students love art and learn well through the arts.

My students have a wide variety of abilities and disabilities.

We all have one thing in common: a love for art. I love art and they know it. Because I love it, they have developed a love for it as well, and so many of them learn best through the arts. Kids with autism (which is about 80% of our school!) are often visual learners, so it is important for us to learn through art.

My Project

My students will be able to learn any subject through an integrated curriculum. I am able to integrate art with nearly any lesson, and they love it when they can show their creativity and learning through art. With enough art supplies, we will be able to do just this. We currently have a tiny amount of art supplies, so these art supplies such as oil pastels, watercolor paints, and chalk pastels will allow us to learn through the arts for many years to come!

Our classroom will improve in so many ways if we receive these art supplies.

We will have more learning, more students on task, more students engaged, and more students who are proud of their work and their learning. We will develop a better classroom community by encouraging each other and praising each others' hard work. Our students will be able to access every subject, social skills, and kind words through an arts-integrated curriculum.
