My Project

At MVMS, we take a unique approach to the school Book Fair. Our school book fair is a true book FAIR because we provide our students with books for free! Each student picks out 1-2 books for themselves and their family members to add to their collection at home. Nearly all of our students at MVMS are on free or reduced lunch and therefore do not often have the means to buy books at a traditional book.

Our book fair is a TRUE Book Fair because it provides equitable access to students and families who experience economic instability.

The books provided at our Book Fair are representative, high interest, relevant, and new - just like they would be at a traditional Book Fair. By collecting donations and acquiring grant funding, we accumulate high interest, and new titles for our students to provide them with a truly fair opportunity to get books at the Book Fair.
