My Project
I have a window of time each day to read novels with my entire class. They are a fun bunch of tweens who have grown up wanting to read graphic novels. I love to use novels time to expose them to award-winning chapter books that might be older than they are, contain fewer pictures and wonderful stories, and were memorable to me in my youth.
I'm sure you've heard of "From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler". I can't wait for my students to make memories reading it in my class. I also have added a classic from the 1990's, "Walk Two Moons".
Providing full-class sets of novels is a strain on a teacher's personal budget. I sincerely appreciate your help in bringing these books to my students.
