My students need math and literacy games for our everyday stations. In order for me to provide my students with these items, I need a color printer and 7 ink cartridges.
My students are a vibrant group of third graders that come from a wide range of backgrounds and family situations. Our school provides a common ground for each of my students, where they are able to come to school ready to learn knowing they are walking into a safe and fun learning environment. My students spend about half of their day in this classroom and they need to have materials that make learning fun! Visuals are an essential piece of the learning community in the primary classroom.
My Project
I know a color printer might seem more of a want than a need but visuals in the primary classroom are an absolute must! While I am teaching guided reading and guided math the students are engaged in strategically planned centers in order for them to work on skills previously taught. If the students need to work on counting money or identifying fractions, I need a color printer in order for them to be able to identify the images. This also makes the materials more engaging as compared to something that is in black and white. By donating to this project you are providing my students with a learning environment that is colorful, fun and engaging!
