it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My K-8 students have had their lives dramatically impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. As children who live in an urban area, many in small apartments, they are relying on their dedication to learning and their imaginations to stay busy and happy in their homes.
My Project
Although I have been a musician for most of my life, no one has ever described me as technically savvy. Now that I am teaching music remotely to 231 students, I have surprised myself in how proficient I have become with many programs. I spend a lot of time making video lessons for my students but am limited by the number of personal devices I have in my household that I am sharing with my own family.
If we received an iPad, I would be able to provide my students with higher quality virtual instruction.
I believe that one of the best ways I can support my students is by recording demos of myself playing instruments so they can watch them as many times as necessary to replicate and learn the necessary skills. With an iPad I would be able to make videos of myself for the students that would be easy to edit and add text. I can support their long distance music education learning better with this device.
When this time of distance learning finally ends, my students would enjoy the use of the iPad when they are back in my classroom as well.
