My Project
An energetic, curious group of children ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, my students give me 600+ reasons to come to school and teach every day. Even though they come from many different walks of life, all of the daily worries, stress, and uncertainty that they face melt away as we create music together and learn as a family.
Ranging from quiet learners to total divas, my students want to learn in a way that is hands-on, creative, and memorable; my desire is to give them this and more.
Whether it be on the stage or behind the classroom door, my "Mini-Mozarts" are inventive, ingenious, and hard-working dreamers who think beyond their boundaries and strive to give their best.
Stations give my students the opportunity to experience music in a hands-on, self-paced environment, fostering independent, creative exploration while giving them opportunities to collaborate, synergize, and cultivate camaraderie. They also allow me as an educator to assess student knowledge and provide any necessary one-on-one instruction. All elements of music (rhythm, texture, dynamics, pitch, form, and timbre) are connected to stations and directly tied to the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Standards for General Music.
