My Students
I am a music teacher at a charter school in Castle Rock, Colorado. My goal is to foster a love of music in every one of my kids. One of their favorite things to do in music class is play instruments.
Right now, we do not have a lot of small percussion instruments.
We would love to have more instruments for our classroom. By getting to experience playing music on instruments, it can really solidify my students' understanding of the music, as well as prepare them if they ever choose to be a part of a band or orchestra.
My Project
These instruments will be used to help kids who learn best kinesthetically. A lot of students do not understand concepts until they do it themselves. These instruments will help them to learn musical concepts. I have requested lummi sticks, sand blocks, five guiro's, a cabasa, and kazoos for our elementary music classroom!
Musical instruments make a difference in these kids' lives.
They love playing instruments and want to learn, but we don't have the resources to buy enough for a classroom to use. We have very few instruments right now and could use a lot more so that everyone gets a chance to play one in class. Thanks!
