My Students
My classroom is an active room full of deep learning and amazing connections. Nevertheless, they need instruments to help bridge the connections we are making.
My school is a school for students with special needs.
All of my students are either on the autism spectrum, or have other learning disabilities. Nevertheless, they are avid learners and are always curious to learn more. My students have a strong connection to music, and music has helped them in their social, life-skills, in addition to their curricular studies.
My Project
Incorporating a cart and high quality instruments will help bridge the concepts that we are learning, and allow them to become more meaningful. Students will be able to further develop their musical-literacy skills, which will connect to basic reading and writing skills. These instruments will also connect with their occupational therapy and physical therapy skills, by using music to teach hand-eye coordination, and muscle skill practice.
My students deserve to have the best and highest quality of education.
They have shocked me year after year with how much they are able to retain. They take music very seriously, and are held to the highest degree of learning in my classroom. By using real instruments, they will further develop deeper connections.
