This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title I school in the heart of Watts. Approximately 365 students are currently enrolled in the ETK- 5 program. Our bright young scholars work hard every day to reach their goals and have a growth mindset. We provide a strong educational environment that challenges students to problem solve, think critically and develop the interpersonal skills needed to succeed in our ever changing world.
Our scholars our incredible young leaders who have a passion for the arts.
As an arts pilot school, we are working to provide more opportunities for them to participate in the arts.
My Project
This Spring our scholars will be performing the Disney Musical, The Lion King. All students in the school will be involved in the production in some way through acting, set design, stage hands, and other roles. We need sound equipment to bring our musical to life. Our students work for months rehearsing, learning songs, and practicing their lines. They deserve for that hard work to be seen and heard for the performance. We will use the wireless mics for the main characters on stage. Students will be able to be heard throughout the auditorium and keep the audience engaged. The speakers will provide better sound quality for the performance. The songs and characters will come to life.
These materials will make a difference by creating an engaging experience for our scholars as they pursue their passion for the arts.
We will be able to use the sound equipment for future performances for years to come.
