Since Covid 19 and the distance learning that needed to take place there has been a decrease in the younger student's ability to use a pincher grip, especially with students of special needs. A pincher grip is needed to hold the mallets and effectively play our barred instruments in music class. Students who have difficulty gripping the mallets are unable to get a pleasing sound from the instruments and at times are frustrated by this. These adaptive cuffs allow students to easily play the instruments, successfully participate in class and feel satisfied in their music making until such time when they are able to hold the mallets on their own.
