This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The pandemic has thrown us all into a new world of teaching and learning. It has required me to search for music equipment that will allow each in-person student to have his/her own resources in the safest possible environment during music class. The students LOVE to explore and demonstrate new ways to musically express themselves during our class activities in a safe and healthy way.

To create a safe and clean environment for several classes each day, it will be necessary to have an additional set of scarves, shakers and mallets (for xylophones) to rotate and clean throughout the teaching day.

Bringing clean music supplies into the classroom is what is needed for these students to know that they are in a safe environment to make music without worry!

My Project

It's vital for students to learn how to express themselves through music, especially during these uncertain times. Preparing for in-person learning has involved new and additional ways to make sure students have the opportunity to explore and play instruments in a safe and clean environment.

I'm taking every precaution to do just that, but it will take a second set of supplies like mallets for xylophones and drums, clean scarves, and shakers to use while the other sets are cleaned ready for the next part of the day.

There will be enough for the students, then, should we return to learning from home.
