My Students
My PreK-4 elementary students are of many races, ethnicity, and cultural backgrounds. They also come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds, with a greater population of them falling into the lower-income status, qualifying them for the Free and Reduced lunch assistance program.
Our students shine bright every day despite the challenges they face on a regular basis.
This year, COVID has definitely posed many challenges for our students but our kiddos have risen above and have proven they can triumph despite it all. Smiles and endless energy are the first things that I notice in the morning when my students walk through the doors. My students LOVE to come to music because they know they can experiment, perform, play, inspire, explore, create, express, and soak in ALL experiences and life-changing moments that occur in the elementary music classroom. Our community of teachers and administrators share the enthusiasm of excellence in learning in our building, district, and community which includes supporting the arts in education as well as encouraging students to go for their dream! I consider it a great pleasure to be able to nurture and guide my students every day!
My Project
Currently, we have one working iPad in our classroom and it is extremely dated and aged - approx. 10 years old. It will not hold a charge without constantly being plugged into it's a charger and it no longer qualifies for Apple software updates. It randomly shuts down in mid-use.
We use our iPad in every class for things such as music apps, record keeping, projection/mirroring onto Smart-Board, recording of audio/video projects, etc.
Our current iPad simply doesn't support our needs any longer. Please help us upgrade to a new and improved Apple iPad Mini!!
