it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At my school we have exceptionally talented and dedicated students who are willing to go the extra mile to have a dynamic and challenging music education. Our students may face very difficult situations, at home, and around them, but their willingness to persevere, and their tenacity has set them apart.
Our music students have gone on to do great things in the community, and in higher level music education.
We are honored to know that many of our scholars have received scholarships, and high placement due to their work in music. We are very proud of their work, and are excited to see what great things they will do this year. Music has done great things for our most at risk youth. Let's help them continue their great work!
My Project
In the last year we have had more than two hundred students receive private instruction in piano, guitar and bass guitar. Several of our eighth grade graduating students are now applying to performing arts high schools. For our students, having the opportunity of private lessons is a game changer. This gives them focused one on one instruction that they are sorely missing in their daily instruction. As you know many of our classes are over-crowded and too many students don't get the room to grow and the time to recognize their love and desire for their education. Though brief, these private lessons have given many scholars a chance at a better education after they leave. All the top scholars of our school are graduates from our music program. these resources will allow us to continue to offer our students this service.
