Help me give my students the ability to develop better hand eye coordination, motor skills, and social emotional learning skills, using music therapy.

My Project

Our school no longer has a music program and my students were the last class to have that experience. Data show that music is as important to a child's development as academics, yet many schools have cut music programs and have done little to fill this void. I have created songs and we play them on cardboard boxes (such as oatmeal boxes that I have accumulated), or we emulate playing drums on our desks. What I love about my scholars is that they are very appreciative, yet sad too, and they don't really complain, but instead believe that one day they will be able to have a music program again. They wish, and reflect, but never complain as such. It blows my mind, because they are so young and have endured so much as a result of the pandemic. Hence, having these instruments will be a munificent gesture.
