Music Manipulatives

Help me give my students multiple manipulatives to use in the classroom, so they have more learning success.

My Project

With these new manipulatives, students will have a variety of learning experiences. Since Covid, student engagement has been an issue, but it has been proven that when students have something in their hands, student engagement rises. Manipulatives, such as ribbon wands and bouncy balls, also give everyone a chance to participate!

I teach a high population of English Language Learners and manipulatives are essential in teaching those that are still learning English.

It allow me to frontload information through experience before adding the actual vocabulary students need to learn.

My goal is to increase literacy by increasing musical knowledge. Music and language are produced in the same area of the brain and the same elements are needed for fluency to occur. By giving students more hands-on activities in music, with beanbags and hoops, they are better able to make the necessary language connections to become more fluent readers and writers.
