My Project
I am asking for 5 MP3 players, with speakers for my students. I work with students ages 3-5 with a variety of special needs. My students often struggle with maintaining their regulation so they can access their education. Experts say that being dysregulated activates a child's fight or flight response. Once a child is in fight or flight they cannot learn, much less function in the classroom.
Noa Daniel says "Music is a way in and a way out." I have seen first-hand the impact that music has on my students.
When they are dysregulated and the fight or flight response has kicked in music is often the only thing that helps them to regulate and re-engage with the world.
