This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some of you might remember your favorite subject in school. You might have loved gym class, math, reading, etc. I want to provide students with an exciting and engaging music experience. I remember participating in music class when I was in elementary school. This was my favorite subject and now I'm a music teacher.

The students come to class every day ready to sing, create, and make music they love.

The students in this school have shown me that they are willing to put in the hard work and dedication it takes to accomplish a goal. It would be my pleasure to give them a music experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.

I want to give students a series of skills they can use in the classroom and beyond. With your help, I can make this dream a reality.

My students attend a small public school in the city of Bridgeport. The students in this community are very hard-working and excited about the arts. Due to our small numbers, the students in this school are very close and our environment feels like a family.

My Project

I love that my students come to class every day ready to learn and create music. These students are hardworking, energetic, and passionate about music. Some of my students love rap, hip hop, classical, pop, and more. Having these materials in the classroom will help students to create music in the classroom and give students to opportunity to play different instruments. My goal is to make sure that all students have access to a quality music education. My goal is to make sure that every student is exposed to a piano, recorder, guitar, and more. Please help me fulfill this goal and give my students the opportunity to explore musically. This year our 3rd and 4th-grade students are learning about the recorders and playing the instruments in class. I'm purchasing more recorders to continue our recorder program and include our 5th-grade classes. With your help, we'll be able to expand the program and include more students. By including 5th-grade students in the program, the skills students are learning this year will continue next year and students will be able to build more skills and knowledge. Our school is in desperate need of keyboards. I use the keyboards to teach students about the elements of music and using keyboards gives students the opportunity to practice the skills they have learned and apply their knowledge to play songs they enjoy. The keyboards in this kart are just the beginning. Please help us to grow and build our instrument collection and continue to provide students with opportunities to perform music.
