My Project
Music is foundational in our SPED curriculum! The students are exposed to music in various ways, including group time, transitions, spontaneous activity, background music, and instruments that the children are free to choose and play throughout the day.
Experiences with music enhance memory, reduce stress, and support brain development.
The egg shakers, rhythm bells, and hand drums will significantly improve our group music time to support basic music competence in dynamics, tempo, rhythm, pitch, and melody!
The percussion musical instruments such as the xylophone, support brain development because music stimulates various brain regions and pathways, leading to improvement in executive function and emotional well-being.
Music is a powerful form of creative expression and supports self-regulation and overall health and well-being. When Special or our non verbal students do not yet have the words to express themselves, music is a fantastic outlet!
