Music Heals The Soul

My Students

Have you ever felt the impact of instrumental music or nature sounds? This background music helps to create a safe and peaceful atmosphere in the classroom. In addition, sometimes students need "brain breaks" because of academic or social anxiety. Timers will help those students self-monitor!

Our school is one that has a huge range of abilities.

Twenty percent of the students in each classroom have identified special needs. This is a full inclusion school, meaning that all learners are in one classroom all day. Our model forces its teachers to teach to all learners using a wide variety of tools to reach all students.

My Project

Music has an incredible effect on our emotions and changes the atmosphere in a dramatic way. Having an iPod in our classroom will give students the freedom to choose from a variety of appropriate playlists to help create a comfortable, safe, and peaceful atmosphere during independent work time. In addition, students will be able to use timers to self-monitor breaks, budget work time, share materials, and help with fluency practice.

Donations to this project would be incredibly appreciated as students will use these items on a daily basis to better their experience at school.

In addition, these tools provide students with more autonomy to create a positive atmosphere and self-monitor needs and behavior.
