This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are the Rockets, and we strive high when blasting off into learning. We take pride in our learning community and nurture it through Mindfulness practices, collaboration, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment for learning with our motto of being responsible, respectful, and secure. We serve early childhood students in Pre-K-2nd grade with a population of three-hundred-forty-three students, where two-hundred-forty-nine students receive free and reduced lunch. One-hundred sixty-one students receive services for Limited English proficiency. We are the future representatives of Maryland!
My Project
Organized seating helps build a community for learning by providing students with flexible seating options and creating socially distanced spaces. Our Music carpet will offer equitable practices and help engage students in critical thinking activities. This location also provides a space for dialogue with peer-peer interactions and student-teacher interactions.
Students can engage in Music games such as passing the steady beat, rhythm, musical direction to teach high/low or the pentatonic scale.
Students can sit on the squares in criss-cross apple sauce or even place chairs on the courts. The organizational preferences are endless!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
