Help our little bodies stay active! Music and movement is an essential part of our day. It provides us with an outlet for our energy as well as a chance to work on our motor skills, musicality, and calisthenics!
My classroom is filled with energetic and fun-loving Kindergarteners!
They meet each new challenge with excitement, determination, and tenacity. We are located in a high-poverty area of Florida, with over 90% of students receiving free and reduced priced lunch.
My Project
While my classroom is filled with eager little learners, they do not have access to many materials that will meet their needs. Most materials required to assist students in learning to listen and respond to music are either nonexistent or heavily used. In particular, we do not have rhythm sticks, beanbags or activity CDs. By giving students access to these materials they will gain new skills in both listening and responding to music, gross motor skills, and calisthenics!
Kindergarten is such a magical grade!
These little ones' minds, bodies, and hearts are growing in leaps and bounds! Music and movement provides not only an outlet for extra energy to focus in other subject areas, but enhances their musical and motor skill set as well!
