My Students

I teach in a classroom where we are excited about what we do. We are expressive, critical thinkers. We take risks, we learn from our mistakes, and we celebrate our successes.

I teach orchestra to approximately 200 students in grades 6-8.

We are learners and musicians. We are excited about what we do, and we use music to explore history, science, literacy, and other arts. My students are racially and socioeconomically diverse but they all have one thing in common: they are aspiring musicians.

My Project

I am always on the lookout for new resources for my beginning orchestra students. I want them to be musically literate, because if they can read music, they can play *any* song in the whole wide world.

These books will provide my students with a fun way to practice their note reading skills, while learning songs that they will enjoy playing.

It's not easy to find music that is at the level of a beginner but doesn't feel like it's for babies. I really think this resource will do exactly that, and I thank you for considering a donation that will inspire my students to practice, learn and grow!
