Help me give my students engaging music supplies such as relaxing, calming CDs, CD players, headphones, Yoga activities, calming sensory musical light, and activity books for teaching students how to utilize music as a healthy coping strategy.

My Project

Relaxing, calming CDs, CD players, headphones, Yoga activities, calming sensory musical light, and activity books for teaching students how to utilize music as a healthy coping strategy are materials needed to help high school students learn grounding, coping, and mindfulness strategies. Through counseling sessions, students are able to learn to identify sources of stress and worry, understand the physical impact of excessive worry, and to learn healthy coping techniques to reduce worry. During small group and individual counseling sessions, students will be taught specifically as to how music can be utilized as a coping strategy. Materials will be housed within the student services suite to help create a calming area where students can spend time when feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Students will be encouraged to practice the strategies learned and to report back their success stories. My desire is that the techniques and strategies learned will become life-long skills that will help my students navigate the challenges of life more successfully.
