My Students
Responsibility is a big part of growing up. Having an instrument and taking care of it is a great step for 4th 5th and middle schoolers to take on. With this project students can see the ability they have at taking responsibility of an expensive item.
The school has a lot to offer the students, ranging from field experience to college level course with college level credits.
Although the student population has a high percentage of at-risk students, the children here are given many opportunities they would not encounter in other schools. In fact we manage to get a woodwind or brass instrument for all the students in grades 4, 5, 6 and 7, without any cost toward the parents/guardians.
My Project
Since the music program and rentals are free to the students, maintaining their instrument's condition will help them avoid repair costs and keep the instruments in top shape for students that will use them in the future. The students will use the oil, grease, and supplies to keep the instrument in working condition. Instruments can last decades with the right tools and instruction.
Your help and support of a quickly expanding music program will benefit up to 200 students as they strive to become excellent musicians.
Your donations contribute directly to the students motivation, attitude, and desire to learn more.
