it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the sole music therapist serving our school district for the past 34 years, I have had the immense privilege of working with students ages 3 to 22—each one unique, resilient, and deserving of the very best we can offer. Many of these students face challenges that require specialized support, and too often, they are among those who receive the least. Yet, they are the very individuals who deserve the most.
Music therapy has proven to be a powerful tool in helping students reach developmental, educational, and emotional goals.
Through rhythm, melody, and creative expression, students improve communication, social skills, motor coordination, cognitive development, and self-confidence. The outcomes can be life-changing—but only if we have the proper resources to support their journey.
This proposal seeks funding and donations to enhance music therapy opportunities for these incredible students. With additional support, we can provide adapted instruments, sensory-friendly equipment, technology for music-making and communication, and materials that cater to the diverse needs of our learners.
While I have spent my career dedicated to their growth, the truth is, my students have taught me more than I could ever give in return. Their strength, joy, and determination inspire me every day. Now, I am asking for your help to ensure they continue to thrive through music—because they deserve every chance to succeed, and more.
