it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students

My students are always curious in their learning, showing determination and creativity in everything they do and say.
I work with 22 preschoolers, between the ages of 2 and a half and 4, who are fun loving, kind, and generous. Our school is located in an urban community and serves children of low-socioeconomic status. My students and their families have become a part of the school community. We have built a strong relationship together in order to better serve our children. One of the ways that the children in my classroom connect with each other is through music and dance. They love moving around the classroom and making up their own dance moves.
My Project
With the stereo, speakers, and streamers the children will learn about the world through music and movement. These items will establish a rich music environment to help children develop socially, and build motor, language, and literacy skills. These materials will also help children learn sounds and meanings of words. While dancing they will build motor skills and practice self-expression with the streamers. Activities will include songs that repeat words, melodies, and rhythms. Imagine, the children using the whole classroom to move their bodies to songs that ask them to do things like: skip, jump, and crawl. The children will then use the outside program to have more freedom in their dance. The music provided will allow them to freely dance alone, with peers, or adults. They will also dance with streamers while I will ask questions such as: Can you hold the ribbon in one hand and make a circle? Can you change hands and make a circle with the other?
Music and movement are an important part of our classroom curriculum.
It helps my students feel at ease and helps them move their bodies to help with self-expression. Music is a way of knowing and being. Your generosity will also help my students empower their learning in mathematical, linguistic, and spatial intelligence. By choosing age-appropriate music, I know my students will develop the skills they need to advance their love of sound and movement.
