This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Over 86% of my student population are English Language Learners where Spanish is their native language. Our school is 100% free or reduced-price lunch. My classroom consists of 18 eager students who are driven to learn on a daily basis. We believe that school-to-home relationships are evident in order to achieve student success.

This year we are building a stronger reading foundation for bilingual students which encompasses a majority of our classroom population!

Let's give them the tools that they need.

My Project

My students need kinesthetic and tactile manipulatives for centers so that they can establish 1:1 counting and phonetic activities for independent learning. Out with the old and in with new global resources is what we are trying to acquire. My students need materials that promote inquisitiveness, creativeness, and engage them in meaningful real life situations.

Let's challenge our students to establish a solid foundation of problem solving.

Our classroom is strategically set up to promote independent learning; however, we are still in dire need of cooperative manipulatives during center time. We were only allocated money this year for state mandated curriculum. Let's face it, only with your help can we make this school year a success!
