My Students

Welcome to our K-8 public School, located in the heart of suburban Arizona. I currently have a second grade class consisting of 27 bright eyed students. This active bunch consists of students who are learning English as a second language as well as students tested into Gifted Learning for quantitative, verbal and nonverbal.

To reach all ends of differentiating cross-curriculum we use our own backgrounds as the foundation of our development.

Some students are new to this school, state and country which provide us a rich cultural environment.

My Project

Ancient civilizations is a difficult standard to teach to 2nd grade students, unless it is explained through the eyes of their peers. A class literature set of Magic Tree House #3 Mummies in the Morning by Mary Pope Osborne will do just that!

Through the view point of Jack and Annie's experience in ancient Egypt, students gain an understanding of World History in addition to increasing reading fluency, comprehension and accuracy.

Literature circles will hold all students accountable to high expectations across curriculum. And when in second grade, what else is more interesting than mummified queens from thousands of years ago?
