This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Why multisensory learning? Students learn best simultaneously using multiple senses which leads to enhanced learning and memory skills! The key is to engage at least two of those senses at once. Tactile letters, carpet spots, dry erase dots, and reading highlighting strips will permit my students the opportunity to engage several senses together allowing the them to make personal connections with the new content. Multisensory instruction takes into account that kids learn in different ways.

Multisensory learning is an effective way to teach struggling learners.

Examples of multisensory learning are tracing a letter and saying the sound, hopping to a number and saying its name, or highlighting and decoding unknown words at the same time. Multisensory learning reaches all students.
