This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 62 awesome 3rd graders with a variety of intellectual differences. My students are focusing their time in school on getting back to their normalcy and jumping hard into the curriculum. Most of my students had spent the last two years doing school online, so that just had to come with difficulties at the beginning of the year. The students have been doing a great job with being flexible and jumping back into routines and procedures.
My Project
Pop Its are the new fidget toy rage. These were invented to help children and adults reduce anxiety and stress. I want to use them to my advantage in my classroom- a tool that we can use to help us learn!
The multiplication chart revamped into an interactive Pop It!
Using Pop Its as a hands-on multiplication chart, will help build confidence, motivation, and promote kinesthetic learning. If students are given 4 x 6, on their pop it they can find their 4's and push down 6 times to get to their answer, 24! The specific Pop Its that I have requested will allow students to learn and practice their multiplication facts up to 12 x 12.
