Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day of the school year is a new adventure. Everyone is treated as family and challenges are tackled one at a time. Each student is expected to do his or her best, and teaching is meaningful, fun, and done with "how the brain learns" in mind.
In our elementary school, our students are mostly from Hispanic background working together to achieve their dreams.
Our school is a Title I school that confronts many challenges, among them the language barrier of many of our students and parents.
My Project
The HP Chromebook and headphones will serve both of my classes during my "Differentiated Instructions Through Centers" strategy, where my students have a preview of new math content and practice their problem-solving skills through iReady website and practice their multiplication and division facts fluency through the "Reflexmath" website. Facts fluency in Mathematics is as important as reading fluency in reading; that's why I need to expand my computer center from 3 to 4 computers.
The students will be well prepared and more confident for the state test because their brains will be available to understand the word problem instead of being stuck with the addition, subtraction, multiplication & division facts.
