This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students had the opportunity to be funded last year (2010-2011). We received a projector and Elmo. We were overjoyed. Unfortunately, I realized I did not have a location to store these devices. I'm interested in multimedia presentation cart with a cabinet.
I teach 32 hardworking students in a hard to staff school in New York.
My students are eager and passionate to learn, especially technology. Anytime I incorporate technology in my classroom my student are highly engaged. There is never a dull moment. Class participation is exemplar. They actually cheer when I say "technology time."
My Project
We've improvised by placing three student's desks to set our projector and Elmo. I have used these devices for read a loud, writing, mathematics, etc. It really captured my students’ attention and motivated them to become active participants in my lessons. They focused better on the material and definitely demonstrated a higher level of “on-task” performance.
I honestly believe this multimedia presentation cart with a cabinet will make my “smart” classroom a reality. The cart easily rolls around the room. It includes storage for: an LCD projector, laptop, Elmo, speakers, cable and extension cord. The cart provides a sliding shelves intended for a laptop, projector and extends the upper cart surface to accommodate additional electronic equipment. This area will be great to place the Elmo. It safely hooks up cables. The cart has lockable storage cabinet with an adjustable height.
A multimedia presentation cart with a cabinet will enable me to bring these funded devices (projector and Elmo) with the confident that it will fully accessible and stored safely for the benefit of my students, and my “smart” classroom.
