This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students range from K-5 and are less than one year in US schools to long term English learners. They love to learn and find many of my current resources valuable to their learning.
My students love when I use reusable, labeled, colorful pictures to support their learning which is why colored ink and laminate is a necessity.
They can use (and reuse) the pictures to help read, write and connect to lessons learned.
Recently, they have been asking for a better timer-other than my sand timers- to help them stay on track. I find it amazing they want to be responsible for their learning and want to encourage it as much as possible.
Although they did not ask for them, I wanted to provide them with a tool that will improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Whisper phones allow students to practice language more precise. They can practice letter sounds, blends, pronunciation and fluency. By improving these areas, writing can improve too. If we get whisper phones, we will need to clean them with cleaning wipes so students can stay safe while learning.
These tools bring life to all my multilingual learners.
